Honesty

Last night Will was playing with a kitchen utensil (he loves to "Cook" these days) and he was taking it apart so Will and Bill had a conversation that went something like this...

Bill:"What are you doing that you shouldn't be doing?"

Will: "Taking this apart"

Bill:"What will happen if you keep doing that?"

Will:"It will go bye-bye"

Bill:"So what are you going to do?"

Will: "Be naughty"

Wyatt has a top tooth coming in - #3! He's also figured out how to grind the top and bottom ones together to make a horrible noise - but he's very happy with it. Yikes. He also has taken up peek-a-boo as a hobby. He'll pull the blanket over his head, wait a few seconds and then pull it down with a big smile on his face. It's pretty cute.

Teeth, driving and clapping

Wyatt has a few new likes in life. He loves driving Will's toy truck and clapping. He entertains himself quite a bit in his high chair with some good old fashioned clapping.

He also has two teeth! His bottom two have finally poked through. It's taken gallons of saliva to get these two out - I can't imagine how many more wet onesies we're in for before his mouth fills up.

Snow!

First snow of the year! Will was very excited about the snow - he knew what it was right away (not sure how) and wanted to go play outside the minute he got up....since it was about 5:45 AM we convinced him he needed to wait at least until it got light out. We built a snowman (more like a snowboy) and he quickly knocked it over. Much of the snow has since melted but he's excited about the idea of seeing "snow vacuums" (aka: snow blowers) all winter long. Wyatt doesn't have much of an opinion on the snow. I'd like to try to get Will out on a pair of skis this winter...we'll see...
Catching snowflakes
Working in the snow
No teeth yet - but every once in a while his cheeks light up like Rudoph's nose so he must be working on some. They were just on fire the day I took this picture.
7 months old! He's sitting up really well (only falls over occasionally!). The lighting is terrible in this picture but his smile in the photo makes me laugh. He is starting to get some hair...its still just really hard to see it.

Wyatt's melon molder

I think I've mentioned Wyatt's flat head problem. He's had his "melon molder" for a little over a month and we've seen big improvements. He doesn't mind wearing it at all...but I'm hoping he gets it off in the next month or so. It's much more fun to cuddle a baby without a big plastic helmet in the way....This picture was taken at daycare. I can't believe he'll be 7 months old on saturday!

Will knows his colors 10/9/10

Click here to view this video

Will seems to have learned his colors! Although the day after I filmed this I asked him what color something was and he replied "triangle"...

First swear word

So yesterday we went for a picnic lunch since it was so nice out. When we got back, we discovered that the dog had knocked over the kitchen garbage...coffee grounds, poopy diapers, empty chicken packages - everywhere! It was a huge mess. I had dropped Will and Bill off at the door and then parked the car with Wyatt. So when I got in the house it was a little nutty. I took Will upstairs to put him down for his nap and reduce the chaos a little bit and as we're walkign upstairs, he says "goddammit, what happened?". I'm trying not to laugh and he says it again about 5 more times. I go back downstairs and ask Bill if he happened to swear when he walked in the door....guess what his answer was???

Welcome back summer!

We've been LOVING the warm weather lately. Lots of picnics and bike riding. Will seems to be starting to understand his colors - I'd say he can get the colors right about 85% of the time. Wyatt gets his flat head helmet today - I'll try to get some pictures up soon. Wyatt is rolling around like crazy and can sit up on his own for a few seconds before tumbling over. He loves to talk almost as much as his brother does. He also really likes to stick out his tongue - so I finally got a picture of that...

Wyatt and his tongue...

Keeping up on current events.
Really wanting to crawl.
We got a few new trees for the backyard (the old ones were dying and got cut down) last weekend and picked up some pumpkins while we were at the tree farm. It was a very sunny day and lots of the pictures must have been taken facing the wrong way as they're almost completely black - so I posted one of the only ones that turned out.

Will sitting on the pumpkins.
Happy fall!

Will's new bike

Click here to view this video

Will has been riding a smaller push bike all summer - it has a double back wheel so the balancing is pretty easy. He loves it and had gotten really good with it so we decided to try uping the ante a bit with this single back wheel bike Will got from Auntie Lisa and Uncle Clifford in June. This is his first ride and since then he's gotten really comfortable. He can coast with no feet touching for about 15-20 feet. He even rode it the whole way home from daycare this week - which is close to a mile.

Here's a bit of Wyatt hanging out in the backyard with Dad. He's been going to daycare a few hours a day this week to start transitioning as I only have a week and a half before going back. The bottle thing has been a little challenging but he seems to be getting the hang of it...

Fair

We went to the county fair yesterday to see the cows. Will got to go on his first carnival ride. I thought he might freak out when it started moving...but he was very focused and had a look of deep concentration on his face. When I went to unbuckle him all he could say was "more again!".
Wyatt slept through all the fun, even the mini donuts.

We went to a very much deserved appreciation picnic this weekend for our fantastic daycare provider Diane. Below is a video mix of the day and above is Diane receiving a plaque thanking her for all that she does everyday for our kids. Sara, one of the moms, is an artist and made the plaque and had all the kids sign their names to copper plates and she made a piece of art for Diane with all of the kids' work on it. What a great afternoon! Thank you Diane for all that you do!

Will has become much more fond of being a big brother...here's some video of the boys together.

A summer thunderstorm blew through here yesterday afternoon. There was some impressive thunder that came with it. Somehow, Will go it into his head that it was "hotdogs" that were making the noise. So he walked around the house yesterday afternoon declaring "hotdogs outside LOUD!"

Big steps

Seems that we might be officially on the road to potty training for Will (although I've probably just jinxed it by writing that). He's used his potty for FIVE days in a row. Still has wet diapers but is making deposits into the potty so we're on the right path...
Wyatt rolled over from tummy to back three times a few days ago...hasn't done it since but it was a big accomplishment.

Bill is recovering well from his hip surgery. He's three weeks out and has started walking the dog, making dinner, and wrestling Will again. I know he's getting antsy being so limited but we're seeing great progress.
Here are a couple of pictures - one with Will wearing his bike helmet and rain boots. Notice the big owie on his chin...he did battle with the driveway - and the driveway won.

Summer days

We're into the lazy, hazy daze of summer. It's hard to get Will to come inside anymore - he loves being outside. And so we're doing about three times the amount of laundry. I don't think he can go 10 minutes without getting dirty. Yesterday was HOT so he was playing in his sandbox and eating a popsicles. Needless to say, a bath was on the agenda shortly after that.

He also got to play with the hose for the first time. We washed his bike and he learned how to drink from the hose.

Wyatt is growing like a weed. He's been sleeping through the night for a couple of weeks now. Makes mamma really happy. This picture is from a couple of weeks ago. The tummy time picture is from yesterday. He still always looks a bit surprised since his eyebrows are so light. He's definately going to be a blondie. Will has become a much bigger fan of Wyatt's lately - its pretty fun to see.

June

I'm supposed to get my work computer back tomorrow so hopefully I will be able to post more often and put up some videos...for now, here are a couple of old pics. The Wyatt pictures are from two or three weeks ago - the little bugger is already 2 months old and is smiling and chatting like crazy. Will turned 2 a couple of weeks ago. Bill got his the bike in the picture (and give it to him about 6 weeks ago). He's become a bike riding maniac and we need to be better about enforcing the helmet rule - he already seeks out hills and wants to "go fast".

Hey, who took my hair???

Practicing his kung fu moves to use on his older brother...

New Addition

Haven't posted anything in a while...its been a bit busy around here. Wyatt Abraham joined our family on April 13th! He was 8lbs and 15 oz. and 22 inches long. Will has been a very helpful and excited older brother (with a few moments of jealousy mixed in). Here's a short video of Will holding his brother for one of the first times. I'll try to get a few pictures up here soon...

Will got a new pair of rain boots this week and is quite enamored with them. They're a bit on the big side (okay they're enormous on him - we have to put socks and his mocassins on in order to make them fit) but he doesn't seem to mind.

Deuce's room is set up and ready to go - now we just need a baby to put in there. Three weeks left...I'll try to get a picture or two of the room up here soon.

March already...

I tried to put a posting up a couple of weeks ago - a couple of videos of the kitchen and Deuce's room - but the website didn't seem to want to load them. I let it load for almost an hour (these were only 2 minute videos) and I gave up...and now all of a sudden its been a month since I've put anything up. I'll try again tonight but thought I'd throw a couple of pictures in from February just in case the videos are a lost cause.

We took Will to the zoo a couple of weeks ago. We just did the inside exhibits since it was really cold that morning. He was very interested and walked a ton. He lasted about an hour and a half and then was exhausted and melted down. Fell asleep in the car on the drive home and then added a 2.5 hour nap on top of that once we hauled him into the house. We should go to the zoo more often...

Dad telling Will they'll catch fish even BIGGER than this at the river this summer...

At the big fish tank

He seemed to really contemplate what life was about while at the zoo. He walked with his hands clasped behind him like this almost the whole time...

Will's newest words are "up", "more" and "k" (as in -okay-). He's LOVING the puddles that have been forming as we've started our spring warm-up. We go through a couple of pairs of socks every day it seems. He thinks its hilarious to close his eyes and we play the "where did Will go" game. He's also starting to figure out how to actually hide - but he is usually laughing so he hasn't really gotten good at the nuances of hide and go seek...He is STILL obsessed with vacuum cleaners and vacuuming. And I mean obsessed.

Some dinner time jokes

We have to spell the word bath unless we're actually planning on giving him one - otherwise he runs into the bathroom thinking he's going to get one. Loves 'em.

We've been talking more about the baby and reading books with babies in them. He really likes one of them - I'm not sure if he has any clue what it all means...but we're in the final countdown. We thought about getting Will a doll to talk about the whole baby thing, but then we got the picture below from daycare. Will is surrounded by dolls, two other kids playing with dolls, and what does he play with? A truck... I'm at 35 weeks this week. The picture I'll post was taken last week. Deuce is very active but has been letting me sleep pretty well at night.

Nature vs. Nuture?

Six weeks to go....
